Advantages

Facebook polls give you insight into the opinions of the members in your group or fan page. The polls you send will be seen by every member, and some of them will even be notified of the poll post. You'd benefit from this particularly if you run a popular Facebook page.

Check for Permissions

To add a poll in your Facebook page, go to the group you'd like to ask a question to and look under the group name and above the text bar where you post a status. If you don't see any link labeled "Ask Question," you don't have the permissions to place a poll on the group's page.

Adding the Poll
If you see an "Ask Question" link, click it and type the question below the link where you would normally post a status. It could be something like "What do you want to see in this group?" Remember not to place any URLs, as they violate Facebook's TOS. Profanity isn't allowed either.

Adding Options to the Poll

When you're done writing your question, you'll see a link below it called "Add Options." Click that link, and add an answer to your question for every text box that appears below the question. If you don't want other people to add options to your poll, make sure that the check box next to "Allow anyone to add options" is left unchecked. Click "Post" when you think the poll is ready.
