Facebook Post Reach Explained
Facebook Post Reach Explained: What is Facebook Reach? Reach is the exact number of people that have seen or viewed your content within certain period. Taking into consideration impressions, it is a bit differ from reach of which the latter is always a unique number while the former show how often content was seen by people you reached, because of this, reach is also often called unique impressions. Impressions are generally always equal or greater than the reach since a viewer can view the content more one times.
Comparing Page Reach and Post Reach
Generally, there are two categories of reach mostly used that we need to distinguish, page reach and post reach.
Page reach gives you the number of individuals who viewed any content associated with your page, which may include those that viewed photo album or users that saw any stories about your page in their news feeds
Post reach describes only the number of individuals who saw a certain post of your page. So for every post a page posted, you can see the number of people you reached.
Intervals for analyzing Facebook Reach
There are three major intervals which Facebook uses to analyze reach. They are; daily interval, weekly interval and monthly interval
Daily interval provides one value per day showing how many people were reached on that day.
Weekly interval offers one value per day but unlike daily interval, it does not show the number of people reached on that day but it shows the number of people reached in the last 7 days.
Monthly interval is not exactly up to a month, it is a 28 day interval, it is similar to the weekly interval as Facebook also provides us with one value per day but this time it shows the number of people that were reached in the last 28 days.
During the analysis of Facebook reach, it’s very important to understand that you can only analyze periods that are either 1, 7 or 28 days long. As Facebook reach is a unique number you cannot sum up the daily values.
Organic and viral Facebook Post Reach
Marketers define organic reach as the number of individuals who were reached by the content of a page that wasn’t sponsored (i.e. unpaid). However, Facebook define his as the number of people who visited your page, or saw your page (Sponsored posts or ads are not included)
Viral reach is the number of individual who saw your Facebook page or one of its posts from a story published by a friend.
